Do you need to install some extra sockets in your home for those new gadgets?
Maybe some new light fittings to complete a redecorating project?
Is your fuse-board old and now requires upgrading for your electrical needs?
Do you need an electric vehicle charger for your new car?
We can offer you -
Electric Vehicle Charging Point installation
We can undertake a survey of your home to assess your existing electrical installation and what may be required before you can install an EV charge point.
We can then plan the installation of your new dedicated charge point and what product best suits your needs.
All notifications to your DNO (distribution network operator) and your local authority building control will be carried out by us.
Consumer Unit upgrades with latest type A RCBOs and surge protection
With now more electronic equipment within the home, we now only upgrade to full type A RCBO consumer units. This will protect each individual circuit from earth faults, overcurrent, short circuit and direct current issues which are generated by electronic equipment such as personal computers.
We also install surge protection with each new consumer unit to protect the installation and the vulnerable electronic equipment within the home. An electrical surge may come from a lighting strike or from the electrical network outside the home.
A full electrical installation certificate will be issued on completion.
Depending on the current electrical installation and records held an EICR (electrical installation condition report) will in most cases be required prior to the installation of a new consumer unit. This is to determine the safety of the installation and eliminate any faults that the new devices would detect.
Full rewiring of your home
These require detailed planning with the customer to get the required specification and are ideally completed on unoccupied properties that are undergoing renovation.
They can be completed on occupied properties but would take longer and would involve a lot disruption to those still present.
Outbuilding Power Supplies
Installation of power for sockets and lighting. We would recommend a dedicated circuit where possible with a local consumer unit.
From here you could also install outside lighting, outdoor sockets, pond pumps and so on.
Electrical Installation Condition Reports
A full detailed report of the current condition of an electrical installation.
These are recommended at certain intervals which should be shown on the consumer unit or on an electrical certificate for the installation.
In the private rental sector this report is now a legal requirement
for all landlords to complete every 5 years which must show a satisfactory result.
This report is now highly recommended for those buying a property and can be supplied by the seller as part of their documentation or commissioned by the buyer before exchange / completion.
Wiring of new extensions
Adding the power and lighting required and protective devices.
Extra sockets
These can be chased and concealed in the walls and or surface mounted depending on your requirements.
New Lighting
LED energy efficient lights
These are low cost to run and do not generate a lot of heat.
We recommend upgrading to LED lamps and downlights in all settings.
Garden lights
Bring your outdoor space to life in the evenings. These can be set in flower beds or in decking or along a fence line.
Different colour LED lamps can be used and controlled through remote dimmable switching.
Security lights
Controlled by switch and / or sensors to light up driveways and gardens when movement is detected in dusk hours.
Emergency Lights
These have a battery back-up to operate the light for a period of time in the event of a power failure. Used for escape routes and in places were light is required for vulnerable persons.
Electric Shower Supply
Very power intensive devices that normally require a 10mm squared twin and earth cable installed in domestic situations. These also require a suitable isolation switch and 30mA RCD protection.
Extractor Fans
To carry moisture away from bathrooms and kitchens.
We most commonly install these in bathrooms with the extractor connected to the lighting circuit and having an overrun timer which will operate the unit after you have turned the lights off.
We also recommend that the extractor has a humidistat to operate the unit when excessive moisture is detected.
Cooker Points
Dedicated circuits should be supplied for cookers that have a high level of power demand.
Earth bonding
An important safety requirement to connect gas and water supply pipes to the earthing system within the property. We can check these are installed and meet regulation standard.
We have it covered.

Fault Finding
Normally a loss of power to certain parts of a property that we can diagnose and remedy for you.
The most common issue found is an earth fault which will be detected by an RCD or RCBO. These devices will switch off the power until the fault is cleared.
We aim to clear the fault in one visit but in extreme circumstances we make the condition safe and plan with the customer to rectify the problem.
Electrical Installation Condition Reports
If you are worried about the safety of your electrical installation or you are a landlord we can provide a comprehensive report which will include visual inspection and testing. The report will include test results and inspection checklist along with recommendations.
Every electrical installation should have a regular recommended inspection date which should be followed. This will keep your electrical installation in a safe condition.
Electrical Installation Certificates
Issued on completion of new works installed by us at PES.
Pearson Electrical Services work with partner electricians and organisations to provide for electrical requirements of larger projects and business.
We also carry out regular maintenance on request.
With most homes now connected to the internet, equipment can be connected together and controlled via voice and mobile phone apps.
We provide data point installations connected to patch panels mounted in data cabinets.
These in turn can be connected to your server or network which will then supply your end user.
